A passport or a national ID card. If your passport is not British, add your visa. Then a short live selfie on your phone, so we know the document is yours.

Your listing photographs are checked against the verified face, so the person in the photos is you. Old or borrowed photos are refused.

Build your listing, set your rates and boundaries, and publish. Pause it whenever you want.
Same day- That your ID is real and belongs to you.
- That you are 18 or over.
- That the person in your listing photographs is the person on the ID.
- That the listing is yours and nobody else is running it.
- How anyone behaves once you are talking. Verified is not the same as safe.
- What you charge or what you offer. That is yours.
- Your tax or your legal position. Take your own advice on both.
What happens to your ID
Your ID and selfie go straight to the identity checking company we use. We never hold the images.
After that, all that exists is the record that the check passed: the name and date of birth on the document, the document type and the date.
Your legal name is never shown on the site. Clients see your working name, your broad area and a distance band, never an address.
There is no route onto this site that misses the check, at any price.
Anything else, email us and a person will answer.
Will my real name show anywhere?
No. Your legal name is used for the check and then kept only in the verification record. Your listing shows the working name you choose.
My passport is not British.
That is fine. Add your visa alongside it, so we can see you are allowed to be here.
What if I am turned down?
We tell you why and you can try again, usually with a clearer photograph of the document. If you think we got it wrong, email us and a different person looks at it.
Can someone else set up my listing?
No. One person, one listing, verified as themselves. Anyone listing on behalf of another person is removed and reported.
Do I pay before I am verified?
No. You pay once you are verified and ready to publish.
